Thursday repeats part of the Tuesday pattern. The chess circle of the Láng Művelődési Központ, a community centre in Angyalföld with a chess tradition going back several decades, keeps the same afternoon and evening hours as on Tuesday, in its room on the second floor. In Józsefváros, Grund64 again fills Thursday afternoons with its children’s groups, from short weekly lessons for beginners and improving pupils to a longer session for young competitors.

North of the city, on the Danube bend, the Váci Sakk Club trains on Thursdays at the Madách Imre Művelődési Központ, the culture centre of Vác, where its sessions cover training, match preparation and the teaching of young players. The club’s Herczeg Oszkár memorial blitz tournament has been played at the same culture centre.
