About this list
This page collects every place in the directory where games are played, grouped by kind: the clubs and their halls, the tournaments, the schools that play as well as teach, and the venues that host chess without running it. Among the venues, the Hungarian Chess Federation’s building on Falk Miksa utca hosts league matches and the capital’s blitz championship; the Klauzál Ház in Budafok receives the youth team rounds; the Pacsi Kulturális Központ in Ferencváros hosts league teams and children’s tournaments, and the Eötvös 10 Művelődési Ház in Terézváros the Terézváros Open.
Two bars carry chess too: A Grund near Corvin Plaza holds a roughly monthly rapid with an entry fee, and the Art Pub restaurant in Pesterzsébet is the home hall of a league team. For casual games without a league, the KnightFall Chess Club runs Sunday coffeehouse meetups in Újlak for a fee, with the venue shown after registration.
