Latest evidence

The public-service workers' union MKKSZ holds an open amateur chess tournament at its headquarters, Róna utca 87 (XIV. kerület). The Hungarian Chess Federation calendar carries the 37th edition (21 June 2025) and the 38th (30 May 2026, 13 Swiss rounds of 10 minutes per player under blitz rules, for players rated up to 2250), both open to non-members of the union. The notice says the union's tournament was the largest amateur chess event in Hungary in 1973-1989 and has been held again since 2004.
