The Hungarian University and College Sports Federation (MEFS) holds the individual and team chess finals of the national student championship. The 2026 notice, headed “SAKK MEFOB DÖNTŐ 2026”, signed on 18 March 2026 and published on the Hungarian Chess Federation site, gives 1 May (individual, 7 rounds of 15 minutes plus 5 seconds) and 2 May 2026 (teams) at the Gödöllő campus of the Hungarian University of Agriculture and Life Sciences, with entry by 27 April 2026 through the federation's online system for enrolled students (staff may enter the individual event); the notice prints the days without the year. The 2025 final, on 6 May 2025, was held at the university of physical education in Budapest. Gödöllő is on the Budapest agglomeration town list.
